The idea for the Pocket Shark Holster was a gift from one of our customers, who was wanting a concealed carry pocket holster that was thinner then the ones he had tried, and that stayed in his pocket when he withdrew his firearm. Having never really considered making a kydex pocket holster, we were intrigued by the idea, thinking Kydex might be a good fit for that style. What we came up with, we really like, and think you will, too. The Pocket Shark has become our favorite method to carry a small, concealed firearm for everyday use. The Kydex adds very little overall thickness to the firearm, at a total .125 inches. The Pocket Shark name comes from the roughed up, sharkskin like texture of the Kydex and the hook that resembles a shark’s dorsal fin. Both features help to keep the holster in your pocket when you draw the weapon. The body side of the holster is lightly formed to the firearm, to add just a hint of retention. A completely enclosed trigger guard for safety, keeps fingers and foreign objects floating around your pocket off the trigger. The outside panel of the holster is shaped in a way as to resemble a billfold and breaks up the outline of the firearm, making this method very concealable for small handguns.
We have discovered this to be a very convenient way to carry a firearm, as it is extremely simple to place and remove. It is also very handy to toss in a purse or bag or tons of other applications where you want the safety of a protected trigger. Though it is not practical to carry the larger handguns in the pocket, we still offer the Pocket Shark for these handguns as we’ve determined that there are so many other uses to be found besides just the pocket.
